Back from the Bazaar
Monday, November 10, 2008(NOTE: I started writing this on October 10 but then I got lazy and didn’t finish it *cough*Fallout!*cough*. So, here is the complete post that was meant to be posted on October 10! *time travels*)
Went to the Makati Rotary Club’s 21st Christmas Bazaar yesterday primarily to get my hands on more Ellana Mineral Cosmetics and to check out what other goodies I might find there. My family and I managed to snag some free tickets to the bazaar when we bumped into one of my mom’s friends in church. Funny thing is, we didn’t even mention the event but she just brandished the tickets out of the blue and gave it to us. She only had 3 tickets so my dad had to pay for his own when he got there, but it was all cool. Freebies are freebies!
Ellana’s booth was the first booth you’d see once you ascended the staircase in Hotel Intercontinental. I met Ms. Coney and introduced myself and she knew that I was one of the many people who blog about her wonderful products. She was really nice and one of the sellers there (I didn’t ask for her name, silly me!) was very friendly and accommodating. I gave her 2 lists of orders: my list and Kei’s list and she efficiently placed all the products in a paper bag, wrote up the bill, and gave me a free liquid lip color! I think she said that it was one of their new products. I chose the Allure shade, which has a lovely coppery tint.

Stuff I bought from Ellana:
- Innocence Concealer
- Awake Concealer
- Flirtation blush
- Fulfillment blush
- Cafe Moche Intensive sampler
- Toffee Mocha Intensive sampler
- (freebie is the lip color on the right!)
Reviews will soon follow!
They also have a shiny new catalog:

I also bought a cute bag organizer from one of the other stalls in the bazaar:

Ellana Minerals - Site Up & Bazaar
Friday, November 7, 2008Ellana Mineral Cosmetics, my current favorite cosmetic line, finally launched their official website. Great job on the design team! There you can browse their products ranging from foundations to lip colors, and what’s awesome about their products is that they are perfectly safe for your skin, especially if yours leans towards the acne-prone and sensitive type. No worries about fillers or irritating ingredients like bismuth oxychloride! On top of that, it’s a local brand formulated by a Filipina.
They have a showroom in Quezon city but I just order the products online. Heads up though, Ellana will be selling their wares at the Makati Rotary Club’s 21st Christmas Bazaar in the Grand Ballroom, Inter Continental Hotel this Sunday (Nov 9). I will be there with my mom and sis, hoping to snag more of their products like blushes and concealers. See you there!
Video Game Haul

Fallout 3 and Little Big Planet for the PS3! I’ve been waiting for these games for so long! Just wanted to show off so if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to test these babies out starting with Fallout 3.
The Pastel Journal
Wednesday, November 5, 2008
I’m so psyched that I finally received my copy of The Pastel Journal magazine today after waiting for a month. This particular magazine is a back issue dating all the way back to December 2005 (issue no.41). As you can see from the image on the left, it’s the Special Portrait Issue <insert fangirl squee here> and it gives great tips from painting realistic skin tones to finding a mentor. I sure wish I had a mentor.
I’ve browsed through this magazine quickly and I have decided that I will include a subscription to this magazine in my upcoming Christmas wishlist. It’s very hard to find this magazine locally, so the only way for me to get my grubby paws on it is to order it online. Such a hassle for poor little ol’ me. Oh, how it would be so much easier to be subscribed for one year *cough* *nudge* *wink*.
