Friday, August 22, 2008I posted more of my artwork in the Photos section of this blog. These are some of which I consider my best work. I will soon be open for commissions and will eventually post my price list in a few days. Do be dears and check them out. Leave comments if you like!
Of course, you can also view my other works in my deviantArt account but you have to be a member to leave a comment. And I’m not that psyched about deviantArt anymore, so, yeah.
Skinfood Sale!

Skinfood is having a 50% discount on selected items exclusive only at their Glorietta branch from August 22-24. Sounds like the perfect time to re-stock on my Mushroom BB Cream and Shea Butter Lip Care Bar! (if those products are part of the selected items on discount).

BB Cream stands for Blemish Balm Cream and it’s the hottest foundation trend in Korea. It also has a huge following in other asian countries such as Japan, China, and Singapore but it’s not that popular here in the Philippines. I guess it’s because we’re too westernized and don’t follow alot of the other asian trends that come about. It’s touted as both a makeup and skincare product. The one that I’m using has not only an SPF of 20, it apparently also has whitening and anti-aging properties. While I don’t notice my skin getting any lighter or younger, BB cream gives you a very natural “dewy” look. It even serves as a pretty good makeup base as it smoothens out your skin. I like using it alone on days when I don’t want to look too made up (I’m only using BB cream on this post). Fair warning to tanned girls who want to try out this product: It only comes in two very light shades.
As for the Shea Butter Lip Care Bar, it’s probably the only lip balm that does it’s magic on my chapped lips. Even Burt’s Bees Lip Balms do zilch for me. This is a very nice, smooth, and slightly tinted lip balm which I highly recommend! Pricey (P400+) but definitely worth it!
You can find Skinfood at Glorietta 3, ground floor, right across MANGO.

My cutie crazy artist friend Kei Liwanag just got word from Ballistic Publishing this morning. Her artwork (entitled “The Finger“) is going to be published in the upcoming Exotique 4! And for that, she said that she’ll treat us to lunch, dinner, and even dessert! For one month! She’s talented and has a big, big heart. Awww.
Drop by her blog and congratulate her!
Vanilla, Vanilla…I Keep Coming Back for Vanilla!
Wednesday, August 20, 2008(So hit me over the head with a keyboard, that song popped into my head while writing this post so I just had to use it!)
My aunt from New York just sent my family and I some gifts. She gave me a couple of adorable striped tunic tops, a cute grey bag, lip liner, and 2 bottles of Tahitian Vanilla Body Mist by Victoria’s Secret. 2 Bottles! I’m big on vanilla scents and this one totally compliments my Desserted Island shower gel (they both contain Tahitian Vanilla).

Now, I’ve tried several vanilla scents for quite a while now. Some vanilla perfumes are sickeningly sweet that it actually put me out. I then discovered Bath & Body Works‘ Warm Vanilla Sugar Body Splash and it was sweet without being too sweet with a very slight hint of coconut.
Tahitian Vanilla, however, smells quite different. It smells more fruity and flower-y compared to the other vanilla scents I’ve smelled. It was a divine mix of sweet and musky, plus it smelled more exotic. I don’t know how the hell I’m supposed to describe it to give it justice, I guess you just have to smell it yourself. In any case, I’m totally in love with it!
So what’s with the fascination with vanilla anyway? There’s just something about the smell. Not only does it smell delicious and sensual (the men seem to like it) it also makes me feel relaxed, warm and cozy. I suppose you could say that it’s my comfort scent having grown up with a mom who loves to bake the most delicious goodies (involving my favorite ingredient: vanilla).
For all you other vanilla fanatics out there, here’s an interesting site on everything you wanted to know about vanilla. Happy reading!
