Morena (Finished)
Wednesday, October 8, 2008 I bought a 24 color set of Van Gogh pastel pencils and I used it to further refine this piece of mine. Here’s the finished result (click on image to zoom in. You have to see the texture! I love it!):

Here’s an animated gif of the two so you can see the difference:
I strengthened and sharpened the areas where the shadows are (where the jaw line meets the neck, the nose meets the cheeks, shadows on the lips, etc) as well as the highlights (specifically on her nose and hair). Also defined her eyes more with eyelashes. I do believe it looks much better now. Thanks, Van Gogh pastel pencils! You expensive things, you!
Tools used:
- MUNGYO Soft Pastels
- CANSON Ingres Paper
- My fingers for blending
- A tortillon and kneaded eraser for corrections
- VAN GOGH pastel pencils
- VAN GOGH charcoal lead
