My Take on Cake (and Beeswax)

I recently got my grubby paws on these products. Which products sucked and which products lived up to their expectations? Read on to check out my reviews!

 1. Sweet Cheeks by Cake Beauty

I know I mentioned that I wanted to get the Citrus Squeeze Body Scrub in my previous post, but this was the only stock left. No regrets though as this has a strong, sweet, cinnamon buns-like  scent once you open the lid and it made me giggle with delight when I had my first whiff. The littlest things please me, I’m a whore that way.

It was brown sugar, all right. Big, brown crystals filled the plastic tub to the brim, soaking in a slightly oily mixture which isn’t at all unpleasant. You’re supposed to give it a shake before using it, which in itself feels like a mini workout because it’s kind of heavy. May I also add that the tub is quite big (21 oz.) and since that you only need to exfoliate only once or twice a week, this will last for more than a month.

Cutting to the chase, I was amazed at how soft it made my skin on the first try alone! The scent sticks to the skin and I couldn’t help but sniff my arms from time to time. Heck, I’m sniffing them right now. I highly recommend this product. It’s the perfect exfoliator for me. Stay away from it if you don’t like sweet scents though. Seriously.

 2. Desserted Island by Cake Beauty

Desserted Island Supremely Rich Bath and Shower Froth (say that ten times fast!) has an uber delicious vanilla scent. Not as strong as Sweet Cheeks but very, very nice. Using it in the shower totally ups the relaxation factor and the product glides on very smooth on the skin. It doesnt leave your skin dry, but I wish the scent was a tad bit stronger. I really should stop comparing it to the body scrub, but I can’t help it. Still, it’s a very nice shower gel, one which I will still continue to use and I’m planning to buy the Desserted Island Supreme Body Mousse this weekend. Maybe that will up the scent factor.

3. Burt’s Bees Replenishing  Lip Balm

Out of all the things I bought, I’m not that pleased with this one. I’ve heard alot about Burt’s Bees lip balms and how they are one of the best balms out there in the market, but this disappointed me. Maybe the original formula works much better than this one? It goes on very smoothly on the skin but I like the results of Skinfood’s Shea Butter Bars better. Or maybe I should give it some time first. Yeah, we’ll see after a few days.

@Ms. Darcy: I hear that it tastes better with toast. Is that true?
